I thoroughly enjoyed my single stay at the Stable. Very Rural, lovely walks without keep getting in the car. The whole family made me very welcome and I enjoy being amidst the working part of farm life...…... I will be back! Pat June 2018
The Shippen was very well equipped and spacious, particularly upstairs. The view was breath-taking in every direction. It was perfectly situated to explore some of Cornwall's loveliest beaches, fishing villages and countryside. We ventured further afield to Salcombe, Falmouth and the beautiful Lydford Gorge in Dartmoor. I would recommend the cottages to friends and family. Julie C May 2018
We had a wonderful time staying at The Shippen on Markwell farm. The view of the farm and viaduct from our bedroom was stunning. We used the farm as a base to visit a lot of Cornwall's delights. These included The Eden Centre (the zipwire is a must!), St. Ives, Padstow, Looe, Polperro, Newquay - Fistral Beach, Land's End, Port Isaac and Bude.
Hospitality at the farm was great. Scones with jam and clotted cream all ready for us on arrival. ideal after a journey down from Glasgow. Our son was delighted to find how close he could get to the sheep, goats, cows, horses, dogs, cat and Llama's.
At night you can sit outside with a glass of wine and look up into a sky just bursting with stars (no light pollution!) - Just ideal! Very quiet, peaceful nights sleep.
Would whole heartedly recommend.
What a FAB holiday! We stayed for 2 relaxing weeks. The children loved it and had a great time with the animals. They loved feeding them and we are very grateful to Louise for being so patient with them. The accommodation was great and the views fantastic. We had lovely walks and picnics on the farm. Thank you to all of you for making our stay great.

Thank you so much for a fabulous holiday. The Granary was perfect and the views were breathtaking. We loved meeting all the animals, N loved seeing the tractors. What a perfect base to catch up with family and friends that we have missed a lot this year. We have been able to relax and unwind. Thank you. Liz Sept 2020

Loved the property and location. Our hosts Matthew and Allison were superb. You were allowed anywhere on the farm considering it was a working farm this was great to get so close to the animals, some didn't need any encouragement, greeted by sheep in the garden was actually quite magical. Location wise at the end of a narrow track meant that no traffic, so if you are looking for peace and quiet thus is the place plus the views from the cottages are simply spectacular
Would Recommend: Yes
Tips for other travellers You are only a short drive from pubs, towns and only 15-20 minutes from the sea. (Looe) Seaton Country Park is great if you have dogs. If you want peace, tranquillity in the evening and a place to recharge, Markwell definitely ticks those boxes.
